Meet Our Founder

Dr. Courtney Revels-Turner is the Founder of The Higher Standard Consulting and Education Services, where she brings extensive experience in special education, inclusive practices, compliance, and educational leadership. A former special education teacher and district administrator, she has served students in grades 3–12 and brings deep expertise in identifying barriers, strengthening special education programs, and helping schools create effective systems that support students with disabilities.

Dr. Revels-Turner earned her doctorate in Executive Leadership Studies from Ashland University, where her research examined race and gender as predictors of special education referrals for Black and Hispanic males. She also holds an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction Management and Administration and a master’s degree in Special Education.

Her work has been published in academic research and featured in School Leadership and Administration: Important Concepts, Case Studies, and Simulations. She has presented nationally, served on ETS test development committees, and is a Cultural Competency Trainer for the Ohio Education Association.

Beyond her work in education, Dr. Revels-Turner serves on the Board of Directors of NAWBO Columbus, contributing her leadership and experience to advancing women business owners throughout Central Ohio.
